“Sudan won’t be lucky next time”; Kwasi Appiah side make Otto Addo eat words with 2-0 win

Sudan have made Black Stars eat his words about they being lucky by beating Ghana 2-0 in a 2025 AFCON qualifier played out on Tuesday, October 15 in Libya.

Ahmed Mahmoud and Mohammed Abdel-Rahman scored in the 62nd and 65th minute respectively after both players capitalized on defensive breakdowns in the second half.

In the lead up to the game, Otto Addo’s statement that Sudan were lucky after drawing goalless in Accra dominated the headlines.

Sudan was very lucky today and next time we see them in Libya they won’t be lucky then we will win that’s all” he said after seeing his Ghana side waste big chances to score.

Losing to Sudan means that Ghana stays put in third place in Group F with two points from four games while Sudan improve to seven points in second place.
