Ghana’s Vice President and NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to prioritize the voices of Ghana’s youth as a central focus of his leadership if elected President in 2025.
Addressing a youth-focused gathering in Accra, Dr. Bawumia highlighted his continuous engagement with young Ghanaians, reinforcing his commitment to a youth-centered administration. “Through my youth connect and various forums across the country this year, I have listened to your fears, concerns, and aspirations,” he assured, emphasizing that the priorities of Ghana’s youth resonate deeply with him. “I am inspired by the resilience and innovation of Ghanaian youth. When I say your concerns are my top priority, I truly mean it.”
Reflecting on his vision for Ghana, Dr. Bawumia outlined plans for an inclusive, self-sustaining, job-creating, and tech-driven nation that embraces the digital age to unlock Ghana’s potential. “My goal is to establish a nation that leverages the global digital revolution and maximizes the benefits from our natural resources,” he stated, highlighting his commitment to supporting young talent across fields like technology, creative arts, sports, and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Bawumia reassured the youth that inclusivity will guide his administration, asserting, “If given the mandate, I intend to address the specific needs of young people, which I see as crucial to fostering meaningful, long-term change.”
Encouraging active youth participation, Dr. Bawumia called on Generation Z to join his mission of transformation. “I invite the youth, especially Gen Z, to embark on this journey with me,” he affirmed.
He concluded by promising greater youth representation in government, pledging, “If elected as your next president, I will ensure young Ghanaians have a voice in the political process and contribute to policy-making. Your ideas and perspectives will help shape the future of Ghana.”
