Israel has informed the U.S. that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind behind the October 7 attack on Israel, has been killed, according to sources who spoke to CNN.

Israeli officials identified Yahya Sinwar after he was found in the rubble of a building targeted by an Israeli tank in Gaza, as reported by Israel’s military radio station.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed there were no casualties among hostages during the operation. Negotiations for a hostage release and a ceasefire in Gaza remain at a standstill, with no updates for nearly a month, according to Qatar’s prime minister.
