Bishop Salifu Amoako, wife arrested over fatal East Legon accident caused by son

The parents of a teenager involved in a fatal car accident in East Legon, Accra, have been arrested.

The accident, which occurred on Saturday, October 12, 2024, claimed the lives of two individuals.

The suspect, 16-year-old Salifu Amoako, son of prominent Ghanaian prophet Elisha Salifu Amoako, was driving at high speed when he crashed into another vehicle on Mensah Wood Street The collision caused the impacted vehicle to hit an electric pole, which sparked a fire that tragically burned two victims beyond recognition.

A police statement confirmed the arrest of the suspect’s parents on October 15, 2024, to assist with investigations into the incident. Currently, the young driver is hospitalized, along with another juvenile who was a passenger in the car at the time of the crash. According to the police, two victims have been treated and discharged, while others remain in critical condition, fighting for their lives.
